The Circle Curse

After taking a great oath never to return to Lankhmar, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser travel all over Nehwon seeking relief of their guilt over the deaths of their former loves, Vlana and Ivrian. They travel for three years living off of their wits through thieving, bodyguarding, entertaining and the like; but never through honest work such as cooks or carpenters, and never as mercenary soldiers.

Their travels brought them far into the Eastern Lands to realms that were even legend to the eastern-situated Horborixen. Past Tisilinilit with it’s spires to the Empire of Eevamarensee with it’s hairless men, dogs, and cats. They went north seeking out Fafhrd’s snow-clan, only to discover that they perished at the hands of a horde of Ice Gnomes. They went south seeking out clues to the Gray Mouser’s origins but becoming none the wiser.

During their wandering, they have their first encounters with Ningauble of the Seven Eyes and Sheelba of the Eyeless Face. Both of whom try to persuade the duo to return to Lankhmar. At the end of their three years, their meeting with Ninguable sets them on the road back to Lankhmar.

They are a little older, wiser, more mature and little less guilt-ridden with the passage of time.
